Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to transport materials and goods.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring secure placement for transit.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles prior to departure to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist with loading or unloading cargo.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation in compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols during transit to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks when required, leveraging mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to optimize delivery schedules and routes.
- Handle manual transmissions with proficiency in operating various truck types.
- Ensure proper load securing on flatbeds and other specialized vehicles for safe transportation.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle types operated.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on delivery operations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds.
- Ability to perform manual lifting safely during loading/unloading processes.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with load securing techniques and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety standards pertaining to commercial vehicles.
