Crane Operator

HireQuest Direct Greensboro NC $16/hour Full-Time HireQuest Direct is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to work on active construction job sites. The Crane Operator will be responsible for safely operating cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment while maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations and site requirements. This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring strong technical skills, situational awareness, and a commitment to job site safety. Key Responsibilities Operate cranes safely to lift, move, and place materials, equipment, and structural components Perform daily crane inspections before operation and report any issues Read and interpret load charts, job plans, and lift requirements Communicate clearly with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors Secure loads properly and ensure safe lifting practices Monitor ground conditions, weather, and surrounding personnel during lifts Follow all OSHA, site‑specific safety rules, and company procedures Maintain crane cleanliness and basic maintenance checks Assist with setup, positioning, and teardown of crane equipment as required Perform additional duties as assigned by site supervision Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience operating cranes on construction sites Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent, as required by site) Strong knowledge of crane operations, load limits, and safety procedures Ability to read load charts and follow lift plans Excellent communication and teamwork skills Dependable, punctual, and safety‑focused Must be able to pass: Background check Drug screen Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, climb, and work around heavy equipment for extended periods What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Immediate work opportunities Short‑term and long‑term assignments available Placement on reputable construction projects Opportunity for ongoing work based on performance Work Location: In person
