What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Strategic Initiatives position at hireneXus?
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
A private equity-backed and rapidly growing hospitality platform is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to help drive the next phase of growth, operational excellence, and enterprise value creation. Operating in multiple premier leisure destinations and a strong direct-to-consumer model, the company has experienced significant expansion through acquisitions, technology investments, and operational innovation.
As the organization enters a critical stage of its evolution and positions itself for a potential transaction in the coming years, the company is seeking a highly driven executive who will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to translate strategy into execution. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s most important initiatives remain on track, creating accountability across functions, and helping prepare the business for its next chapter of growth and eventual exit.
This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CEO, with broad influence across the organization and direct exposure to ownership and the Board.
Geography
While relocation is not required, and several members of the executive team operate remotely, infrequent travel to the Florida Panhandle—the company's operational and cultural hub—is expected. Candidates should embrace integration into a dynamic, hospitality-driven culture centered there.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Executive Partnership
- Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to translate long-term strategic vision into actionable annual and quarterly priorities.
- Support enterprise-wide strategic planning processes, including goal setting, long-range planning, resource allocation, and performance measurement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing analytical insight and strategic recommendations for key business decisions and growth opportunities.
Execution & Program Governance
- Own the governance, tracking, and execution of the organization’s most critical strategic initiatives, ensuring clarity, accountability, and measurable progress.
- Establish and maintain executive operating cadences, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that provide visibility into initiative status, risks, milestones, and outcomes.
- Drive cross-functional execution across Operations, Finance, Technology, Marketing, Revenue, and HR to ensure alignment and remove execution barriers.
- Identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and proactively accelerate initiative delivery with urgency and discipline.
Organizational Alignment & Performance Management
- Act as the central coordination point for enterprise-wide priorities, ensuring leaders remain aligned and focused on key objectives.
- Build and maintain KPI frameworks, performance dashboards, and governance structures that enable data-driven decision-making.
- Facilitate executive forums, leadership reviews, and operational checkpoints to reinforce accountability and alignment.
Transformation & Value Creation
- Lead and coordinate exit-readiness and value creation initiatives in partnership with executive leadership and private equity sponsors.
- Support development of enhanced reporting, operational rigor, process documentation, KPI architecture, and strategic narrative development.
- Partner with investors and leadership teams on strategic business reviews and value creation initiatives.
- Contribute analytical support for major transformation efforts, strategic investments, and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, business operations, management consulting, strategic program management, private equity portfolio operations, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, high-growth, or transformation-oriented environments.
- Strong background in building operating rhythms, governance structures, KPI frameworks, and executive reporting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive execution without direct authority.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and business acumen, with the ability to connect strategy to execution and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive teams, boards, and investors.
- Comfort operating in dynamic environments characterized by ambiguity, change, and rapid growth.
- Willingness to travel periodically as required for leadership meetings and business needs.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a high-impact strategic operator who thrives at the intersection of planning and execution. The successful candidate will bring structure to ambiguity, drive accountability across the organization, and ensure that the company’s most important initiatives are delivered with discipline and speed.
Serving as the connective tissue between strategy and execution, this individual will play a pivotal role in helping the organization achieve its growth objectives and prepare for a successful long-term outcome, including potential transaction readiness.
