With manufacturing operations based in the Chicago area and projects across 23 countries, they are experiencing significant growth with enclosure demand doubling in the past three years.

This isn’t just a code review position—it’s a strategic technical role that directly impacts the sales process and customer relationships. You’ll be the go-to authority ensuring every project meets IBC, MBMA, ANSI, and NFPA standards while providing critical support during proposals and quoting. As their dedicated code expert, you’ll bridge engineering, sales, and manufacturing to resolve complex compliance challenges and help win business in highly regulated industries.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare thorough written correspondence, document findings, issue violation notices, and maintain accurate records and databases of the review process and permits.
  • State Program Analysis: Analyze and interpret state programs efficiently to expedite review and approval process. Pursue and maintain Master Plan Reviewer certifications by state as applicable.

Why This Role Is Different

Most Code Compliance professionals work in municipal building departments reviewing plans all day. This role is different. You’ll work in a private manufacturing environment where your expertise directly contributes to revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Your code knowledge becomes a competitive advantage, helping the sales team respond to RFPs, working with customers to solve application challenges, and ensuring manufactured products meet every regulation before they leave the facility.

Our client values this position because compliance issues can make or break large-scale projects. They need someone who doesn’t just know the codes but can interpret them practically, communicate with customers confidently, and find solutions that satisfy both regulations and project requirements. You’ll pursue Master Plan Reviewer certifications by state, positioning yourself as a recognized authority in the field.

This is ideal for someone who has code compliance expertise but wants to apply it in a dynamic manufacturing and sales environment rather than a municipal review office. You’ll have variety: plan reviews, customer interactions, occasional job site visits, mentoring engineering teams, and staying ahead of evolving codes and standards.

This job description is to be used as a guide for accomplishing objectives and only covers the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. It is in no way to be construed as an all-encompassing list of duties and responsibilities.
