About The Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our operation in Greenville, SC. In this role, you will support the development of new products and processes, design and redesign components to improve performance and profitability, and work closely with the Operations team to drive efficiency and maximize uptime on the manufacturing floor.
What You'll Do
- Prepare drawings, procedures, and sketches to support day-to-day manufacturing as well as new product development and process redesign
- Write and edit technical instructions in plain language for maximum operator engagement
- Help establish quality criteria and testing/quantification methods to validate products meet intended specifications
- Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs
- Analyze and plan product workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to maximize manufacturing efficiency
- Research new materials, processes, and procedures with consideration for chemical compatibility, environmental impact, and manufacturing methods including fabrication, plastic heat welding, coated fabric converting, material handling, and automation
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to design and perform tests, record results, and produce written reports for internal and external use
- Participate in VA/VE and continuous improvement activities to drive profitability and customer satisfaction
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, preferably within a small to mid-sized company
- Coursework or experience in Production and Process Engineering
- Knowledge of automated forming equipment, automated welding, blanking lines, or other fabrication processes — including programming and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with ERP software
- Background in cost reduction, quality improvement, or new product/process implementation
- Prior manufacturing plant exposure
