We are seeking a results-driven manufacturing or industrial engineer to design and optimize production layouts and workflows that align with lean manufacturing principles. This role focuses on reducing waste, improving throughput, and enhancing operational efficiency through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design efficient production layouts that support lean principles and maximize throughput.
- Optimize workflows using tools such as value stream mapping (VSM), spaghetti diagrams, process flowcharts, and takt time analysis.
- Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze production data using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools to support operational decisions.
- Calculate and evaluate standard product and process costs to support variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate SAP routings to reflect actual production steps and timing.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Lead and manage projects from concept through implementation.
- Develop user requirement specifications (URS) and scope of work (SOW) for new equipment and technologies.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support new product development (NPD) with a focus on manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Create and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role.
- Proficient in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, SMED, visual management).
- Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, and RCA methodologies.
- Understanding of DFM, DFA, and poka-yoke principles.
- Knowledge of material handling systems, kanban, and JIT inventory practices.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $104000.00/hr.
