Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the oversight of the day‐to‐day accounting operations, the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, analyses, regulatory reporting, as well as the strategic financial planning and reporting. The position requires knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Manager is a key member of the organization’s leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Management
- Own and oversee all accounting operations, including cash management, accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
- Manage daily cash activity and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts, including oversight of intercompany cash transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and the monthly close calendar.
- Oversee intercompany accounting processes and ensure proper reconciliation and compliance.
- Manage regulatory filings, including local business tax requirements.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor requests.
Financial Planning & Strategic Support
- Lead annual planning activities including budgeting, forecasting, monthly re-forecasts, and financial business reviews.
- Partner with the President and executive leadership team to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to support operational and business performance improvement initiatives.
Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
- Establish, monitor, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards.
- Maintain strong financial governance practices across all accounting processes.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Drive initiatives focused on improving efficiency, scalability, and automation within accounting and finance processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, close processes, and transactional workflows.
- Enhance financial systems and data accuracy to support business growth.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial initiatives as needed to meet evolving business needs.
