Our client is seeking a Drill Foreman who is responsible for overseeing and directing construction crews performing horizontal directional drilling and underground utility work. This role manages daily field operations with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, productivity, cost control, and quality execution. The Drill Foreman ensures all construction activities are completed in accordance with installation standards, project specifications, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements while providing hands-on leadership and guidance to crew members.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead construction crews, providing hands-on support as needed
- Manage projects involving crews of five (5) or more employees
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with installation standards, safety requirements, and project specifications
- Complete and maintain all required daily documentation, including but not limited to:
- Time sheets
- As-built drawings and service cards
- Daily production reports
- Traceability documentation
- Customer pay sheets
- Train and mentor crew members in accordance with safety policies and operational procedures
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors in the field
- Supervise daily operations while continuously monitoring job sites for changing conditions, hazards, and compliance risks
- Track crew productivity and progress to ensure work is completed on schedule and within cost estimates
- Coordinate resources, equipment, and personnel to maintain efficient workflow
- Ensure quality workmanship and proper execution of drilling and utility installation activities
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proficient knowledge of natural gas installation techniques and industry standards
- Minimum three (3) years of gas pipeline construction and replacement experience
- Preferred five (5) years of field leadership experience as a Foreman
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong working knowledge of gas installation methods, safety practices, and regulatory standards
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce blueprints, plans, and as-built documentation
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
- Proven leadership, crew management, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and develop field personnel
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
