Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Laborer, you will:
- Perform physical labor tasks at pipeline and utility construction sites in accordance with project specifications and contract requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with all safety standards and industry installation protocols.
- Prepare and maintain work sites, including clearing debris, hazardous materials, and obstacles.
- Load, unload, and distribute materials, equipment, and tools safely and efficiently.
- Dig trenches, brace excavations, and assist with pipe and drain installation.
- Erect temporary structures and place traffic control signage as directed.
- Clean and maintain construction equipment and hand tools.
- Support crew members by performing Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks and assisting in fusion activities when required.
- Train and mentor apprentices and new labor team members.
- Communicate safety concerns, reported incidents, and job-related issues promptly to supervisors or foremen.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
- Commitment to following strict safety procedures and contributing to a safety-focused team culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, pipeline work, or utility labor roles.
- Knowledge of natural gas installation standards and construction practices.
- Certifications related to pipeline operations (e.g., Operator Qualifications, fusion training).
Physical Demands:
This role requires sustained physical effort including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 50 pounds, prolonged walking and standing, and performing strenuous tasks under varying environmental conditions. Excellent stamina, agility, and physical resilience are essential.
