Our client is looking for knowledgeable food safety and nutrition-focused Preschool Kitchen Staff to support daily kitchen operations and all aspects of food preparation at their premier preschool in Socorro, NM.

• This is a Direct Hire position with the school
• Full-Time or Part-Time; Monday through Friday; year-round employment

• Full-Time Cook Assistant: shift would be 6:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
• On-Call Head Cook: classified as part-time (per diem and on an as-needed basis) and hours are not guaranteed as they vary weekly!

• $12.97- $14.50/hour pending education, credentials, and professional cook/food-handler experience

• Demonstrate the schools vision, mission, values and beliefs at all times.
• Ensure the health, safety, care and well-being of children at all times and compliance with quality standards in tandem with all local, state and federal laws, standards and regulations.
• Supporting the relationship with the food service caterer.
• Partnering with the Head Cook and the caterer to deliver child-friendly, nutritious menus.
• Ensuring food is accepted from caterer each day and stored according to all health and safety regulations.
• Preparing daily snacks.
• Distributing food to every classroom in accordance will all center health, safety and allergy restriction practices.
• Ensuring all food service items are collected from classrooms, cleaned and stored in accordance with health, safety and allergy restriction practices.
• Ensure entire facility operates at the highest level of cleanliness throughout the day.

• PREFERRED Education: High School Diploma
• REQUIRED Certification: Food Manager Certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire

• REQUIRED Education: High School Diploma
• REQUIRED Experience: Experience managing or overseeing kitchen operations
• REQUIRED Certification: Food Manager Certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift ~30 pounds
• Must meet background check eligibility
