Project Engineer – Residential Land Development
📍 Charleston, SC (Onsite, Full-Time)
We are partnering with a leading national homebuilder to hire a Project Engineer to join their growing team in Charleston, South Carolina. This role is ideal for a civil engineering or construction professional with a background in residential land development, site work, and subdivision projects.
What You’ll Do
- Support land development and construction projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate with municipalities, engineers, contractors, and utility providers to ensure compliance with permits and schedules.
- Assist in preparing project documentation including budgets, bids, contracts, and schedules.
- Monitor project progress, site activities, and contractor performance to ensure timelines, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Conduct site visits, review engineering plans, and provide input to address issues proactively.
- Partner closely with internal teams including construction managers, land development managers, and leadership to support community build-out.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in land development, civil construction, or residential homebuilding.
- Familiarity with site grading, stormwater management, utility installation, and permitting processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or similar tools a plus.
