Job Title: Project Engineer / Project Manager (Contract)
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina
Duration: 6 months (likely extending to 10 months)
Opportunity:
Our client’s facility is experiencing a significant increase in capital projects, requiring additional support in project engineering and management. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer/Project Manager to join us on a contract basis to help drive these critical initiatives forward. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute immediately to a dynamic environment and play a key role in the successful execution of various capital projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute capital projects from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are on time, within budget, and meet all technical and quality requirements.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Lead and facilitate project team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams (including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, IT, etc.).
- Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Develop and execute RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for equipment and services.
- Manage supplier selection and vendor relationships.
- Oversee the installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Manage upgrades and modifications to existing utility systems (nitrogen, HVAC, pure steam generation, etc.).
- Ensure all project activities adhere to cGMP rules and regulations.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
- Influence and guide project team members who do not directly report to this role.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and their application in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Experience with capital projects, including onboarding new equipment and upgrading utility systems.
- Familiarity with sterile fill processes and equipment (vial filling lines, lyophilizers) is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
