Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Regional Supply Chain Manager to lead regional logistics strategy and optimize transportation operations across road, rail, and waterway networks. This role is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, improving carrier performance, reducing logistics costs, ensuring safety compliance, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional logistics strategies to support aggregate logistics operations.
- Define and validate logistics zone structures, transportation rates, and billing processes.
- Establish transportation carrier contracts, incentive programs, and optimize internal and external transportation routes.
- Support the implementation of digital logistics management tools to improve operational performance.
- Lead production network planning and sourcing optimization initiatives through cross-functional collaboration.
- Monitor transportation asset utilization, operating costs, and carrier performance using benchmarking metrics.
- Partner with Finance to define logistics profit and loss metrics and evaluate transportation performance.
- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives while maintaining safety standards, leading root cause investigations, and mentoring logistics teams during changing business priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of directly related experience, or a minimum of 10 years of directly related professional experience.
- Strong expertise in logistics, transportation management, strategic sourcing, and supply chain operations.
- Experience managing road, rail, and waterway transportation networks.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with logistics cost optimization, carrier management, purchasing strategies, and operational benchmarking.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with required safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
