Highlands Butchery & Bar is hiring a Line Chef who takes pride in execution, consistency, and working as part of a disciplined team.
We are a farm-driven steakhouse and butchery, and our kitchen demands attention to detail, urgency, and ownership. This is a role for someone who wants to get better, move fast, and be part of something that is building.
What This Job Really Is
You will be expected to:
- Execute consistently under pressure
- Maintain clean, organized, and stocked stations at all times
- Communicate clearly with the team during service
- Take ownership of your station from open to close
This is not a passive role. You will be held to a standard—and supported in reaching it.
Core Responsibilities
- Set up and break down your station properly every shift
- Cook and plate menu items to Highlands standards
- Maintain strict sanitation and food safety practices
- Manage ticket flow with urgency and accuracy
- Assist with prep and cross-utilization of product
- Support team members to keep the kitchen running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- Previous line cook or chef experience preferred
- Ability to work clean, fast, and organized
- Strong sense of accountability and reliability
- Willingness to learn and improve daily
- Ability to stay composed during high-volume service
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with grill, sauté, or expo
- Familiarity with scratch kitchens or butchery-driven menus
- Understanding of proper meat cookery and temp control
Schedule & Expectations
- Weekend availability required
- Nights and peak service shifts expected
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
