Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee the corporate accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, and efficient accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, technically strong accounting professional with experience managing a small team and supporting complex real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, property accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and variance analyses.
- Oversee significant transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, redevelopments, and financing activities.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain SOX compliance.
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members, setting clear goals and accountability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Apply advanced accounting principles to resolve complex issues and support process improvements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on accounting software and property operating systems.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Accounting) is a plus.
Experience
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or top-tier firm) preferred.
- Real estate or REIT industry experience strongly desired.

Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
