The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of Finance, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Program Management, Human Resources, Purchasing and IT.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Trainer assists the supervisor in overseeing maintenance operations to ensure goals are met. This role monitors safety, quality, and productivity in at least one department, trains associates on maintenance standards, and enforces company policies. The Maintenance Trainer will also troubleshoot problems, implement quality improvement programs, investigate safety issues, and promote continuous improvement activities. They will plan, organize, and allocate departmental resources and may discipline associates with supervisor approval.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists Maintenance Assistant Manager/Manager in the following duties; supervising maintenance to assure goals are achieved. Monitors the safety, quality and productivity levels of at least one department
- Must meet or exceed all essential functions of maintenance
- Supervise maintenance to ensure maintenance efficiency is maintained through maintenance scheduling & troubleshooting problems.
- Supervise maintenance to ensure quality standards are maintained through improvement programs, implementing countermeasures for all quality concerns and assisting manufacturing engineers in design work stations for maximum quality.
- Trains associates including reviewing the maintenance standards.
- Monitors safety issues within the department including machines, equipment, and processes. Investigates problems and recommends solutions.
- Enforces company policies and procedures.
- Promotes and supervises continuous improvement activities within maintenance.
- Will plan, organize, and allocate department resources to meet department goals and company goals.
- Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long term management objectives.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
- High School diploma required.
- At least 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industry
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Has demonstrated an ability to interact and motivate with other associates
- Have initiative and willingly accept other assignments and overtime requests.
- Knowledge of maintenance terms, and those related to assembly specifically.
- Good personal computer/software skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Works in a Factory environment with noise from the manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to moving equipment.
- Potential exposure to electrical shock.
- Sometimes lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds.
