Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Trainer is responsible for instructing, developing, and certifying operators in the safe, standardized, and quality-driven execution of production processes. This position ensures employees are trained according to company standards, customer requirements, safety expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Train new hires and cross-train existing employees on assembly line operations.
• Instruct operators in safe and proper workstation procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions and control plans.
• Validate and document employee competency prior to certification.
• Provide coaching and corrective instruction when performance gaps are identified.
• Perform in-process inspections, checks, testing, and gauging per control plans.
• Identify and segregate out-of-tolerance components and final assemblies.
• Initiate MIRs (Material Issue Reports) when required.
• Reinforce quality alerts and customer-specific requirements.
• Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Train employees in 5S standards and reinforce workplace organization.
• Assist in implementation of TPM activities.
• Assist with morning stretching activities during pre-shift. 
• Support team-based problem-solving efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fills in for absentees on work stations when needed
• Follows all safety rules and keeps the work area in a clean and orderly condition. 
• Performs other duties as necessary.
   

Education 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years experience in manufacturing environment

Functional Experience

• Use hand tools, crane, grinders, calipers, and gages
• Use of a hand or powered pallet jack
• Use of a computer and typical office software
• Ability to use handheld scanner
• Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment in assigned area
• Must maintain an excellent attendance record

Physical Requirements

• Works in a factory environment with noise from the manufacturing environment. 
• Exposure to moving equipment, parts and electrical shock.  
• Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects – weighing up to 50 pounds.
