EVS Supervisor 5

Helpful Hands, Inc. is seeking an experienced EVS Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations and staff in a healthcare environment. This role ensures a clean, safe, and professional environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support EVS staff across hospital areas

• Conduct daily inspections and promptly correct deficiencies

• Train, coach, counsel, and discipline staff per policy

• Develop, post, and manage staff schedules

• Maintain accurate documentation: attendance, incidents, evaluations, and corrective actions

• Oversee linen distribution and regulated medical waste handling

• Monitor supplies and promote cost-effective operations

• Respond promptly to calls/pages

• Conduct tours with leadership and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships

• Promote teamwork, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• 2 years healthcare housekeeping experience; 2 years supervisory experience preferred (managing 24–30 staff)

• IEHA or equivalent preferred

• Must pass a background check and communicate effectively in English

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Housekeeping scheduling, workflow, and cleaning processes

• OSHA safety regulations and AHE cleaning/disinfection guidelines

• Leadership, training, and team management

• Verbal, written, and non-verbal communication

• Customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving

• Ability to prepare schedules, reports, evaluations, and counseling records

• Maintain confidentiality and work flexible shifts, including weekends

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, stretching

• Lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs; manual dexterity and full range of motion

• Correctable vision and hearing

Working Conditions

• Exposure to cleaning/disinfecting chemicals

• Indoor/outdoor environments, varying temperatures

• Potential exposure to fumes, odors, mechanical hazards, and communicable diseases
