What You’ll Do
As an Estimator, you’ll be at the forefront of some of the most high-profile, high-security projects in the DC/MD/VA area. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll work directly with general contractors, government agencies, and industry partners to deliver tailored perimeter security solutions that protect critical infrastructure and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build lasting relationships with existing clients—and develop new ones—to fuel sustained business growth
- Take command of bid packages: review plans, specifications, addenda, and RFIs with speed and precision
- Communicate clearly and proactively with general contractors and design teams to clarify scope, identify gaps, and align expectations
- Source and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring full compliance with project requirements
- Produce detailed, accurate cost estimates and written technical proposals that win jobs
- Present your estimates and strategies to senior leadership for approval—your work will help guide key business decisions
- Own the bid process from start to finish: track submissions, follow up relentlessly, and close the deal
- Lead the project handoff process to ensure a smooth transition to project management team—your clarity sets the project up for success
- Support contract negotiations and provide insight throughout the preconstruction phase
- Occasionally manage select projects, giving you a full view of the impact your estimates have on execution
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of proven experience in construction estimating, procurement, and project management
- Deep knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials—bonus points if you know fencing and security systems
- Proficiency in estimating tools like Excel and Bluebeam; experience with Procore or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong math and analytical skills—you enjoy solving problems and finding efficiencies others miss
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills—you’re persuasive, articulate, and clear under pressure
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and contract documents with ease
- Attention to detail with the ability to determine scope, scope gaps, and contradictions
- Self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a high-performing team
- Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to juggle multiple bids and deadlines
- U.S.-based, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass federal background checks for secure jobsite access

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
