Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Customer Service Sales Representative to join a well-established material handling equipment distributorship. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and driving results. The primary responsibility is to serve as a liaison between the service department and customers with the goal of increasing service revenue.
The successful candidate will focus on following up on recommended services and quotes, while also prospecting new customers to expand the service business. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between the service department and customers.
- Follow up on open service quotes, recommended repairs, and preventative maintenance opportunities.
- Prospect and develop new service business by identifying potential customers and presenting service solutions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business.
- Document customer interactions, quotes, and follow-ups in CRM or service systems.
- Collaborate with service managers, dispatchers, and technicians to ensure accurate communication with customers.
- Achieve assigned service sales and revenue goals.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly to customer needs and concerns.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred but not required).
- Experience: 0–2 years of customer service, sales, or related industry experience (prior exposure to material handling, industrial equipment, or B2B sales is a plus).
- Communication Skills: strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Customer Focus: demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, resolve issues, and build positive relationships.
- Technical Aptitude: willingness and ability to learn about forklift products, features, and applications; mechanical interest or background is a plus.
- Computer Skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn CRM/sales software.
- Work Ethic: self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Driver's License: valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Other: ability to work both independently and as part of a team; willingness to travel locally within the assigned territory.
