IT Business Analyst Intern

Job Summary

Heli America is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Business Analyst Intern to support internal technology projects, business system improvements, and digital transformation initiatives.

This position will work closely with business users and the IT team to collect and analyze product and system requirements, document business processes, support functional testing and user acceptance testing, and help ensure technology solutions meet operational needs.

The internship offers practical exposure to the full lifecycle of an internal IT product, from identifying business needs and defining requirements to testing, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal departments to collect business needs, system requirements, operational challenges, and user feedback.
• Assist in organizing interviews, meetings, and requirement-gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for system enhancement, process improvement, and automation.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain requirement documents, meeting notes, project trackers, workflow diagrams, and other project documentation.
• Assist the IT team in evaluating requirement priorities, dependencies, risks, and implementation feasibility.
• Develop and execute test cases for new system functions, product enhancements, integrations, and system updates.
• Support functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, document, reproduce, and track system defects and usability issues.
• Coordinate with users, developers, and external service providers to follow up on issues and validate corrective actions.
• Verify completed enhancements and confirm that delivered solutions meet approved business requirements.
• Support system implementation, user communication, training materials, user guides, and post-launch feedback collection.
• Assist with other IT projects and business system improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with both business users and technical team members.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document information clearly and accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow up on action items, and meet project deadlines.
• Basic understanding of software development, system implementation, business process analysis, or software testing is preferred.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
• Bilingual English and Chinese communication skills are a plus but not required.
