Testing Engineer

· Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer to drive automation testing efforts for a high-performance, consumer-facing connectivity platform. This role is hands-on, with responsibility for test planning, automation scripting, execution, and mentoring a team of testers. The successful candidate will bring solid expertise in Selenium-based UI automation, API testing, and agile QA practices, and will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure the highest software quality standards.

· Key Responsibilities:

o Lead day-to-day QA/test activities for automation projects across UI and backend services.

o Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.

o Define test strategies, automation frameworks, and execution plans aligned with project goals.

o Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and ensure early validation.

o Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure consistent regression coverage.

o Review test scripts, ensure coding best practices, and mentor junior testers in automation.

o Track test progress, manage defects, and report quality metrics to stakeholders.

o Ensure test coverage for edge cases, performance, and system integration points.

· Required Qualifications:

o 5 years of experience in software testing with a focus on automation.

o Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Java/Python, and API test tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured). Experience with testing RESTful data services and APIs

o Should be able to create automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones.

o Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), version control (Git), and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

o Should have worked on agile methodology

o Good understanding of Java and .NET Web applications

o Knowledge of API testing using API testing tools like Postman or Fiddler will be an advantage

o Proficiency in using automation frameworks like Web, Mobile, Desktop, Container, Backend APIs, DB, MQ, Cloud tech AWS or similar, AccelQ, Selenium, SeeTest or similar, ReadyAPI, UFT, AI tool, ADO/JIra, Dynatrace or similar APM tool

o Knowledge of SOA test automation framework, process, strategy

o Must be familiar with Test Metrics, Change and Release Management processes.

o Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

o Must be available to work full-time onsite in Chicago, IL.
