Respiratory Therapist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care to patients requiring both advanced and routine therapeutic interventions. This role is responsible for administering respiratory treatments, operating ventilatory support equipment, conducting diagnostic testing, and supporting patient care teams through education and clinical expertise. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically strong, and experienced in both acute and critical respiratory care environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer advanced respiratory therapies, including mechanical ventilation and ventilatory support management
- Provide basic respiratory treatments such as:
- Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB)
- Aerosol treatments
- Sputum induction
- Postural drainage
- Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot various types of ventilatory support equipment
- Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and clinical observations in patient records
- Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, including:
- Blood gas analysis
- Pulmonary function testing
- Participate in emergency and resuscitative procedures as needed
- Clean, sterilize, assemble, and perform minor maintenance on respiratory therapy equipment
- Develop and write respiratory care protocols and procedures
- Provide staff training and education related to respiratory care practices and equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Current Respiratory Therapist license/certification as required by state regulations
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures, ventilator management, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in acute care, ICU, or critical care settings preferred
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support
- Familiarity with respiratory protocol development and staff education/training
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Salary : $39 - $42
