Chronic Registered Nurse (RN) – Dialysis
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with dialysis experience to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatment
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and treatment response in the medical record
- Adjust treatment plans as needed and communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications per physician orders and dialysis protocols
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, disease management, and care needs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care team members to coordinate patient care
- Ensure proper laboratory collection, handling, and follow-up on results
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations as needed
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards
- Support training, mentoring, and onboarding of new clinical staff
- Promote patient awareness of transplant options and alternative treatment modalities
Schedule & Work Environment
- Clinical setting with direct patient care
- Frequent standing, walking, and patient interaction required
- Ability to assist with patient movement and handle medical equipment
- Exposure to clinical environments and potential infectious materials
- May require occasional travel to other facilities or training locations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the last 2 years
- Chronic hemodialysis experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred / Additional Requirements
- Minimum 9 months RN experience for leadership responsibilities
- Minimum 3 months dialysis experience for charge/lead roles
- Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient mobility
- Lift up to 30 lbs. and move equipment (with assistance) up to 200 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and physical activity required
Salary : $44 - $52
