Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the operating room under the supervision of the Unit Director, following State of Maine Board of Nursing guidelines and local policies.
- Support perioperative workflow by assisting surgeons, anesthesia colleagues, and circulating staff to maintain safety and efficiency during procedures.
- Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively as assigned; monitor vitals, respond to changes, and document care per policy.
- Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, and equipment readiness; participate in patient positioning and safety checks.
- Communicate clearly with the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse and the broader team to ensure continuity of care for each case.
Requirements
- Current Maine RN license
- BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of hire
- COVID-19 vaccination fully vaccinated per state mandate
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Flexible, strong communicator and team player with ability to multitask; able to work in a fast-paced OR setting
Education and Experience Notes
- Relevant operating room nursing experience or exposure to perioperative care is valued
- Demonstrated adherence to patient safety and nursing practice standards

Additional Information
- If traveler resides within 50 miles of the facility, a $10/hour decrease applies
- Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid
- The host facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
