Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Collect relevant data, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to support optimal outcomes.
- Monitor infant status, administer medications and treatments per policy, and manage NICU equipment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families; participate in rounds and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks appropriately and safely.
- Promote a safe, healing environment with family-centered education and ongoing learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved vendor required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in NICU or acute care settings
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced NICU setting and meet day-shift requirements (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
