Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult patients on Med Surg Tele units, delivering evidence-based care per unit protocols.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, identify changes, and respond promptly to rhythm disturbances.
- Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor for adverse reactions or complications.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, document findings in the electronic medical record, and update the plan of care as patient conditions evolve.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate treatment plans and discharge planning.
- Uphold patient safety, perform fall risk assessments, ensure infection control standards, and educate patients and families on care and post-discharge expectations.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in California
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of telemetry/Med Surg experience
- Solid telemetry experience and ability to interpret rhythm strips
- Ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced short-term acute care setting
