Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process across assigned departments, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation with accurate documentation.
- Deliver age-appropriate care for a broad patient population (0–120 years) and promote comfort, safety, and symptom management.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor responses, identify adverse events, and escalate changes per policy and protocol.
- Coordinate with Nursing Leadership (including the CNO and Nurse House Supervisor) to assign and adjust workloads, provide break relief, and support RN coverage in Emergency, Medical Surgical/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing areas.
- Maintain competency by completing required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) and staying current with unit-specific procedures; participate in credentialing updates as directed.
- Respond promptly to clinical changes and emergencies, ensuring patient safety and clear escalation when needed; collaborate with care teams to implement interventions and improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered California RN license
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum one year acute care experience within the past two years
- At least six months recent experience in Emergency or Critical Care settings
- Ability to work nights and participate in a travel assignment; capacity to work across multiple departments as trained
- English required; Spanish bilingual preferred
