Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to in-patient psychiatric patients on an individual basis, including activities of daily living, social and psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure access to required services; inform the RN of any patient changes
• Participate in rounds and group therapy activities as needed to support treatment plans
• Support care for adolescents ranging from ages 8 to 18, assisting with age-appropriate activities and interventions
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment; monitor patient status and respond to changes per unit protocols
• Rotating responsibilities include D/E/N shifts with on-call and callback as dictated by unit needs
  
  

Requirements

• 2 years of recent experience as a psychiatric technician (psy tech)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Associate’s Degree in Psychology or Sociology
• Experience working with children/adolescents ages 8–18
• Ability to work in an inpatient psychiatric setting in Rochester, NY
