Duties of Housekeeping Supervisor:
- Onboard, train, and mentor housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Implement and monitor strict infection control and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous wastes and infectious materials.
- Oversee specialized cleaning, such as setting up and breaking down isolation room
- Clean residents’ rooms, surgical areas, offices, and waiting areas using cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
- Clean and sanitize floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection-control policies
- Sweep, mop, and buff floors as needed
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment
- Handle and dispose of waste using standard procedures
- Assist in keeping the laundry department neat, clean, and orderly
- Label clothing and personal resident items
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies according to prescribed standards
Qualifications for Housekeeping Supervisor:
- Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings, and labels
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as loading and unloading washers and dryers; coordination necessary to fold clothing items and linen
- Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from white
