What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Office Manager/Medicaid Coordinator position at Healthcare Nursing Center?
Premier long term skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York is looking to hire a Business Office Manager/Medicaid Coordinator to join their business office. This position is responsible for assisting residents applying for Medicaid coverage and assisting the back office in collecting private and NAMI balances. In addition, the business office manager will perform general office activities for the facility as assigned by the Office Manager and/or Facilities Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patients’ eligibility for Medicaid.
- Process Medicaid applications, meet with families and collect required paperwork.
- Review Medicaid Pending cases with Department of Social Services and/or Medicaid caseworker. Advise facility administrator and corporate Office on problem cases.
- Follow-up on requests by the Dept. of Social Services for recertification and approval.
- Contact Medicaid with recertification problems and budget determinations.
- Prepare and submit new Medicaid applications.
- Maintain necessary billing and financial information on resident files.
- Maintain resident trust accounts and reconcile balances monthly.
- Perform and coordinate all collection efforts with the nursing home Administrator.
- Maintain accurate records of payor sources, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as necessary and maintain appropriate back-up records.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, facility staff and business office staff members.
- General office duties as assigned.
