Position SummaryAs our Medicaid Coordinator, you will be the person neighbors and their families rely on to get through the Medicaid application and recertification process. You will own Medicaid filings and Department of Social Services follow-up from admission through recertification, and you will support the Business Office with billing, collections, and census duties.
Medicaid Responsibilities• Medicaid applications: Guide neighbors and responsible parties through the Medicaid application process, including requesting and obtaining all required documentation.
• Recertifications: Track upcoming recertification dates and complete recertifications on time to prevent gaps in coverage.
• LDSS-3559 filings: Prepare and submit LDSS-3559 forms to the appropriate Department of Social Services.
• Department of Social Services follow-up: Maintain ongoing communication with the Department of Social Services to support compliance and timely processing of applications and recertifications.
• Admission financial interviews: Meet with neighbors and responsible parties to complete admission agreements and financial interviews, and set Medicaid expectations from the start.
Business Office Responsibilities• Billing and collections: Identify and process overdue accounts, working with the corporate team on collections.
• Family communication: Address billing questions from neighbors and families in person, by email, and through mailed statements.
• Census and data accuracy: Enter client information accurately and reconcile daily census records.
• Records and mail: Process incoming and outgoing mail, maintain accurate filing and records, and prepare confidential reports as directed.
Requirements• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a nursing home business office or billing office.
• Experience with Medicaid applications and recertifications strongly preferred, including the LDSS-3559 and working with local Departments of Social Services.
• Strong customer service skills and professionalism with neighbors and families during a stressful process.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Collaborative team player with strong attention to detail and organization.
