Summary of Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role at Headwaters Behavioral Health’s new Children’s Residential Treatment Facility, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care for adolescents experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. The RN provides direct and indirect nursing care to support psychiatric stabilization, safety, and overall well-being.

Using strong clinical judgment and trauma-informed practices, the RN will assess and evaluate residents, administer and monitor medications, and communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, management, and the broader care team regarding each youth’s needs. Responsibilities may include completing head-to-toe assessments, coordinating care plans, monitoring health status, and responding to emergent medical or behavioral situations.

Success in this role requires patience, critical thinking, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. RNs must consider each adolescent’s developmental stage, mental health history, and cultural background to provide compassionate, individualized care.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho or hold a compact state license.
• Two (2) years of registered nursing experience in psychiatric setting required.
• Obtain and maintain current BLS CPR.
• Licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order to get to and from work in various weather conditions to ensure reliability.
