DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic library procedures and materials.
- Experience in media technology (e.g., video, computer, Internet, etc.)
- Prior experience working with students.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous library experience.
- Teaching certificate.
- Working experience with computers, online catalog/circulation systems, Internet/Web 2.0, and productivity software such as Microsoft Office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the circulation of library materials for students and staff and generate overdue notices, as necessary.
- Maintain a current and accurate catalog of library materials.
- Order, process, and prepare incoming materials for the library according to the district’s Collection Development Guidelines.
- Welcome classes to the media center and assist students and teachers in locating instructional materials for class research projects.
- Manage the circulation of AV and technology equipment for the school.
- Provide assistance to students and staff in the use of library resources and equipment, such as the online catalog system, data projectors, digital cameras, etc.
- Organize media center activities such as book fairs, author visits, and other literacy events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
- Recess Lunch Aide (as part of the Paraprofessional Unit)
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 25 hours per week (5 additional/recess)
