Job Summary: The Library Assistant helps support the daily operations of the high school library by organizing materials, checking books and resources in and out, helping students locate information, maintaining library records, and supporting educational programs.

Job Description:
- Handle the circulation process for library materials, in support of the Librarian/Teacher.
- Process and prepare incoming materials for the library collection.
- At the direction of teaching staff and building administrators, provide support for students engaged in online learning.
- Provide support to teachers in monitoring student academic progress.
- Organize and maintain all areas of the collection in the correct order and place.
- Provide general information for library use and guidance for student learners.
- Prepare various library materials for teachers upon request
- Maintain AV equipment through cleaning and repair when needed
- Maintain confidentiality for all school-related information
- Help maintain an orderly classroom environment for learning
- Handle Chromebook usage and troubleshooting
- Shall perform all other duties as directed by the principal
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the day
- Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations
Wages: $14.46 per hour, annual increases for five years.

Schedule: Position begins 2026-2027 school year
- Anticipated start date of August, 2026
- 7:30am to 2:40pm daily, 5 days/week
