Job Title: Perishable Lead - Retail
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: Full-time
Job Description:
- Support and maintain retail-scale systems across multiple store locations
- Create and maintain PLU / SLU / UPC data for perishable items
- Prepare and load item/scale data files into store systems
- Create and update department-level scale code books for store teams
- Provide day‑to‑day support to store teams, IT field technicians, and help desk
- Coordinate with vendors during scale installations, maintenance, and upgrades
- Support new item setup for perishable departments (meat, deli, produce, bakery)
- Ensure accuracy and alignment between item master data and scale databases
- Assist with labeling and tax compliance for perishable products
- Train store personnel on scale usage and item accuracy best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and system reliability
Qualifications
Required Experience
✅ Experience in grocery retail, food retail, or multi‑store environments
✅ Hands‑on experience with store systems, item setup, or scale/POS support
✅ Knowledge of PLUs, SLUs, UPCs, and perishable item management
✅ Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
✅ Comfortable supporting stores, field teams, and vendors
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with scale management software or retail scale systems
- Understanding of perishable departments (meat, deli, produce)
- Familiarity with labeling and tax rules for food items
- Exposure to SAP or retail item master systems
- Spanish language skills (plus, not required)
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
