Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Painter to oversee and execute painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. As a Lead Painter, you will be responsible for managing painting crews, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining safety standards on-site. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate painting crews to ensure timely and quality completion of projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and surface repairs in accordance with construction painting standards
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), ensuring even coverage and adherence to color specifications based on visual color comparison and schematics
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine project scope and specific requirements for each site
- Manage surface preparation tasks such as masonry work, stucco application, concrete finishing, and fixture installation as needed for renovation or restoration projects
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a safe working environment at all times
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for detailed work including trim carpentry, framing, caulking, and minor carpentry tasks
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating and project planning
- Deep understanding of color theory and visual color matching techniques
- Proven expertise in residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and structural painting
- Proficiency with ladder use, scaffolding setup, and working at heights safely
- Skilled in the use of paint sprayers (including airless) and conventional spray equipment for large-scale projects
- Strong knowledge of construction site experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as plastering, masonry work, drywall repair, caulking, and fixture installation
- Familiarity with safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols and general construction safety standards
- Basic math skills for measurements and estimations; carpentry skills including trim carpentry and framing are a plus
- Experience with renovation projects involving remodeling or restoration work; handyman skills are advantageous
