SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 10 years of industry-related experience in electrical design (Commercial, Government,
- Academic, R&D, Multi-family, Industrial).
- Software Proficiency: Technical mastery of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Technical Authority: Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices applied to complex
- electrical systems and code requirements.
- Project Lifecycle: Proven experience overseeing designs through construction and completion, including
- field observation and AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) liaison.
Desirable Requirements
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license (Strongly Preferred).
- Certifications: EIT and LEED accreditation (Strongly Preferred).
- Specialized Software: Knowledge of SKM software tools and/or Lighting Design software (e.g., AGI,
- Visual).
- Business Development: Experience in marketing firm capabilities and establishing/enhancing client
- relationships.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical Design: Lead the design of complex electrical systems, distribution components, lighting, fire alarms, and special systems.
- Complex Problem Solving: Resolve complex design issues with clients and address technical comments from review authorities.
- Calculations: Perform and review load studies, voltage drop, panel/transformer/feeder loading, generator sizing, and illumination levels.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct technical reviews of work produced by staff to ensure professional quality and code compliance.
- Project Management: Define project specifications, determine budget construction cost estimates, and produce construction documents within hourly budgets.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a resource and trainer for Design Engineers and junior Project Engineers.
- Construction Administration: Review shop drawings, RFIs, and change order proposals; adjust designs based on field conditions.
