SENIOR MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Industry Experience: 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design for commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, or industrial sectors.
- Leadership: Minimum 5 years of direct Project Management experience within the engineering consulting industry.
- Technical Software: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Business Acumen: Thorough understanding of financial principles in consulting (WIP, billings, A/R) and municipal codes/regulations.
Desirable Requirements
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license (Strongly Preferred).
- Certifications: LEED accreditation and EIT (Strongly Preferred).
- Modeling Expertise: Proficiency in TraneTrace and/or eQuest modeling software.
- Growth: Proven track record in business development, establishing new client relationships, and securing repeat business.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Direct administrative, technical, and managerial techniques for complex mechanical design projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Project Development: Finalize project scopes, prepare bid summaries, and develop detailed construction cost estimates and budgets.
- Financial Accountability: Review job cost sheets, manage monthly billings, and oversee work-in-process (WIP) and accounts receivable collection.
- Technical Direction: Direct the preparation of designs, specifications, plans, and reports; resolve complex design problems through review and field investigation.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, counsel, and knowledge transfer to junior project managers and design engineers.
- Client Management: Serve as primary contact for technical requirements, billing inquiries, and conflict resolution; represent the team in marketing presentations.
- Operational Execution: Oversee project changes and contract alterations; ensure milestone schedules are met within predetermined hourly budgets.
- Construction Administration: Review administrative items including shop drawings, RFIs, and change order proposals; oversee designs through completion.
