MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: 8 years of industry-related design experience (Commercial, Government, Academic, R&D, Industrial).
- Management: Minimum 3 years of Assistant Project Management experience.
- Software: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of municipal codes, regulations, and financial/business principles in a consulting environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license (Strongly Preferred).
- Certifications: EIT and LEED accreditation (Strongly Preferred).
- Modeling Software: Experience with TraneTrace and/or eQuest modeling software.
- Business Development: Proven track record of Establishing new clients and marketing firm capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Management: Direct mechanical design projects ensuring timely completion within predetermined hourly and construction budgets.
- Technical Design: Design complex mechanical systems; prepare/direct preparation of designs, specifications, plans, and estimates.
- Financial Oversight: Review job cost sheets, prepare monthly billings, and manage work-in-process and outstanding accounts receivable.
- Construction Administration: Oversee designs through completion, conduct field documentation visits, and review shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
- Client Relations: Act as primary liaison for clients, agencies, and subcontractors regarding technical requirements and billing.
- Development & Strategy: Finalize project scopes, prepare bid summaries, and compile project status/budget reports.
- Quality Control: Review staff work for quality assurance and provide technical assistance to resolve design problems.
