Senior Director, eCommerce Engineering
Senior leadership role focused on modernizing large scale commerce platforms and driving long term architecture strategy.
The team is looking for a strong backend and architecture leader who can guide modernization efforts, influence technical direction, and partner closely with engineers and architects across global teams.
Responsibilities
Platform & Architecture
- Lead architecture strategy across commerce platforms
- Modernize legacy Java backend systems
- Improve checkout, billing, payments, and subscription platforms
- Drive AI initiatives across engineering workflows
- Support cloud and database modernization efforts
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, and engineering efficiency
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead engineers, architects, and engineering managers across global teams
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Platform leadership
- Help improve engineering standards and technical processes
- Provide strong technical leadership across modernization initiatives
Key Projects
- Modernizing legacy commerce systems
- Introducing AI enabled capabilities into existing platforms
- Improving checkout and payments performance
- Supporting cloud and database modernization
- Defining long term architecture strategy
Ideal Background
Strong preference for candidates with experience in:

Compensation
- Base salary between $230k and $280k
- 30% annual bonus
