This role is responsible for organizing, managing, and completing tax engagements while ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant tax services. The Tax Supervisor serves as a key bridge between Senior Associates and Managers, taking ownership of engagements while supporting both technical execution and team coordination.
In addition to technical execution, this role provides leadership to staff, supports client relationships, and plays a critical role in developing team members. The Tax Supervisor contributes to engagement efficiency, quality control, and overall team success while continuing to expand technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Conduct tax research, apply findings to client situations, and identify tax issues with appropriate recommendations or escalation.
- Maintain accurate, complete workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, managing engagement-related communications and fostering strong client relationships.
- Deliver high-quality, timely client service by addressing client inquiries and coordinating responses with leadership.
- Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously, monitor progress, communicate status updates, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prioritize workload and resources effectively while performing self-reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Coach, mentor, train, and support Tax Associates and junior staff through work reviews, feedback, onboarding, and professional development.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performing team environment while driving process improvements, supporting firm policies and procedures, and contributing to engagement quality, workflow efficiency, and overall team success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or Accounting Certificate
- 4–6 years of tax or public accounting experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting engagements
- Strong understanding of tax compliance and regulations
- Experience with individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Familiarity with tax research and application of tax law
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lead, mentor, and support team members
Certifications
- CPA / Enrolled Agent not required but preferred or actively working toward certification
