This role is responsible for managing tax engagements, overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant tax services. The Tax Manager leads client engagements, serves as a primary point of contact, and ensures work is completed accurately and on time. In addition to technical execution, this role provides leadership to team members, supports client relationships, and drives engagement efficiency. The Tax Manager collaborates closely with Senior Managers and Partners to manage client needs, develop staff, and contribute to the overall success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
- Review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Provide technical guidance and perform research on tax matters
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee accuracy and completeness of workpapers and deliverables
- Serve as primary client contact for engagements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Provide tax planning insights and recommendations
- Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of services
- Manage multiple engagements, budgets, and deadlines
- Monitor project progress and communicate status
- Ensure efficient allocation of team resources
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Senior Associates and Associates
- Review staff work and provide constructive feedback
- Support training, onboarding, and team development
- Identify and implement workflow and process improvements
- Support firm initiatives and cross-functional collaboration
- Assist in business development and client growth
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5–8 years of tax or public accounting experience
- Experience managing engagements and reviewing work
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and regulations
- Experience with complex tax returns and research
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent client service and communication abilities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Certifications
- CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required
