Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Nurse Practitioner who is equally comfortable managing pediatric patients and family medicine cohorts, and who is proficient with the athenaOne EHR platform. You will join our care team to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, collaborating closely with physicians, support staff, and administrative teams to deliver high-quality care in a modern outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and developmental assessments of infants, children, adolescents and adults (as part of a family practice model). This is a fast paced community healthcare center.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, provide preventative care and wellness counselling for the full family unit
- Order/interprete labs, imaging and specialty referrals as needed
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, self-care and care transitions
- Document all patient encounters, plans and follow-ups in athenaOne with accuracy and timeliness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, panel management, care coordination, patient-flow optimisation
- Support clinic operational objectives (productivity, scheduling, patient satisfaction, documentation)
- Maintain professional licensure, NP certification, BLS/PALS as applicable
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP program)
- Nurse Practitioner certification and state of Georgia NP license (or eligible)
- Board certification in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and/or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
- Prior outpatient primary care experience supporting both pediatric and family medicine populations (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
- Proven experience using athenaOne (athenahealth) EHR – comfortable workflow, documentation, ordering, referrals
- Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal acumen, ability to engage both children and adult patients and their families
- Commitment to team-based care, quality improvement and patient-centred outcomes
Preferred Qualifications / Nice-to-Have
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience in underserved or community health settings
- Experience in managing panels, coordinating care transitions, working with pediatric subspecialists
- Familiarity with value-based care models, risk stratification, chronic disease management
