This position will perform, coordinate, and oversee technical and business administrative duties in support of the HAMMER Federal Training Center Director, leadership team, and staff. This includes support to the facility operations, training functions, and supporting high visibility partnerships.
The Administrative Assistant must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, exceedingly well organized and flexible when handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks. Skills must include being able to manage multiple priorities; have strong problem solving skills; establish and maintain essential relationships; and show a high degree of initiative with a proven record of decision-making. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with VIP's associated with Steering Committee, including senior officials from Department of Energy, contractors, other government agencies and labor.

- Maintain confidentiality of business-sensitive and personnel information.
- Anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise and advise leadership accordingly.
- Track actions and deliverables required of the department.
- Review, summarize, prepare responses, and/or redirect communications coming to the Director's office.
- Receive and screen communications, including telephone calls and e-mail messages, while providing assistance using independent judgment to determine those requiring priority attention.
- Routinely respond to communications independently.
- Develop tactful, working relationships with HAMMER customers and partners.
- Anticipate and schedule meetings that need to occur (both internally and externally), based on current business activities and priorities.
- Plan, coordinate, and support various meetings, events, and activities across the department. Process payment for events involving safety or morale recognition funding.
- Participate in the preparation and analysis of various reports and internal/external presentations.
- Prepare and coordinate outgoing correspondence.
- Update HAMMER organizational charts and track staffing changes.
- Coordinate and schedule travel for Director and HAMMER National Programs staff.
- Carry out special projects as directed which include assignments supporting each of the organizations within HAMMER.
- Coordinate, track actions, and attend all Director's staff meetings.
- Review a wide variety of reports and documents.
