Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Houseman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness across hotel or facility premises, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role requires a proactive approach to janitorial tasks, floor care, and general custodial duties, supporting the overall cleanliness standards of the property. Previous experience in hospitality, hotel housekeeping, or industrial cleaning is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, polishing, and carpet care to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal
- Assist with furniture moving, setup for events, and other light maintenance tasks as needed
- Restock supplies such as towels, linens, toiletries, and cleaning products to ensure availability
- Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning
- Prior hotel experience or background in hospitality is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
