Bus Aide

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school. The ideal candidate will provide support to the bus driver and ensure a positive and secure environment for all passengers. This part-time position is located at the Bus Garage and involves working during school hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safe boarding and disembarking of students.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any issues or concerns.
• Conduct safety checks of the bus before and after routes.
• Report any incidents or emergencies to the bus driver and appropriate authorities.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with children or in a similar role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
• Must be physically able to assist students as needed.
