Position Summary
Green New Energy Materials (GNEM) is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support the movement of raw materials, production supplies, and finished goods throughout our lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating domestic and international logistics, inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving activities, and supplier communications while ensuring materials are available to support uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with overseas suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, production supplies, and finished products.
- Schedule domestic and international transportation while working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Monitor shipping schedules to ensure materials arrive on time and production requirements are met.
- Track shipments, resolve transportation issues, and communicate delivery updates to internal teams.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through warehouse and ERP systems.
- Support shipping, receiving, warehouse transactions, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure efficient material flow throughout the facility.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, export documentation, and customs paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company logistics procedures.
- Analyze logistics costs, freight performance, inventory levels, and transportation metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist with vendor and carrier performance evaluations and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Support implementation and optimization of logistics, warehouse, and inventory management processes.
- Maintain accurate records within ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing).
- 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or transportation coordination.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving, transportation planning, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting international supply chains.
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and customs compliance.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, ocean freight, air freight, trucking, and customs brokerage.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
- Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse and production areas.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in production areas.
