Kennel Manager Duties & Responsibilities
Staff Management:
- Supervise and schedule kennel technicians
- Train new staff on animal handling, cleaning protocols, and safety
- Monitor performance and provide feedback
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for boarding and daycare
Animal Care Oversight:
- Ensure proper feeding, watering, and sanitation
- Oversee medication administration as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor pets for signs of illness or distress
- Ensure safe handling and separation of animals
Facility & Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, runs, and common areas
- Ensure proper disinfection protocols are followed
- Monitor laundry and waste disposal processes
- Ensure OSHA and biosecurity compliance
Client Communication:
- Handle boarding check-in and check-out processes
- Communicate with clients regarding pet status
- Address client concerns and resolve issues
- Promote boarding, daycare, and add-on services
Inventory & compliance:
- Maintain inventory of food, cleaning supplies, and medications
- Order supplies as needed
Operations & Revenue Growth:
- Manage boarding reservations and occupancy levels
- Implement strategies to increase boarding and daycare revenue
- Upsell services such as baths, nail trims, and playtime
- Track and report boarding revenue metrics
Safety & Risk Management:
- Ensure safe playgroup management and prevent injuries
- Enforce protocols for aggressive or high-risk animals
- Maintain incident logs and report issues to management
- Ensure staff follow all safety procedures

Compensation Structure:
- Base Pay: $18-$23/hour
- Monthly Revenue Bonus: $150-$750
- Holiday Bonus: $100-$300
- Labor Efficiency Bonus: $150-$300
- Target Total Compensation: $42k-$50k

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
