Kennel Technician – Full-Time Only
Our fast-growing veterinary hospital is currently seeking a dedicated, full-time Kennel Technician to join our compassionate and dynamic healthcare team. We have experienced significant growth over the past year and are continuing to expand, with 35 team members and more positions opening as we grow.
This is a full-time position only. Candidates must be able to meet all job requirements and must be available to work every other weekend as well as occasional holidays (typically 2–3 hours).
Position Summary:
We are looking for an individual who is physically capable, emotionally resilient, and passionate about animal care. This role requires working in a high-paced environment where teamwork, reliability, and emotional stability are essential—especially when handling difficult or sensitive situations, such as euthanasias.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient handling, including fractious or aggressive animals.
- Walk, feed, and monitor hospitalized patients.
- Clean cages, kennels, and hospital areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Perform laundry duties and restock supplies.
- Communicate with clients under the direction of medical staff.
- Handle emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist with euthanasia procedures and provide compassionate care throughout.
- Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted, and 50 lbs or more with assistance.
Required Qualifications:
- Full-time availability with the ability to work a rotating schedule (e.g., 3 days on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off).
- Must be available to work every other weekend and some holidays (limited hours).
- Ability to walk dogs and perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation, be punctual, and capable of standing, lifting, bending, and squatting for long periods (up to 11 hours/day).
Must be emotionally stable and able to handle high-stress and emotionally challenging situations, including euthanasias.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
